Homework: The Rime of the Ancient Mariner – Part the Fourth

Due this Monday 7 November, your task is to write a five point summary of the key events from Part the Fourth, and then select one strong metaphor, copy it into your blog entry, and explain its underlying meaning.

Example:

“At one stride comes the dark”

In this line from the Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Coleridge suggests that the night time came in an instant. It does this by talking about the day as if it is a person walking into darkness, and that it does so in the time it would take to take one stride.
